Dataset card
The Indian Stock Market Minute Data dataset provides minute- and daily-resolution price history for more than 2,500 NSE-listed stocks and indices, spanning roughly 2000 through 2026. It is distributed as sharded Parquet files optimized for streaming with the Hugging Face datasets library.
What this dataset contains
The dataset covers intraday minute bars and end-of-day bars for 2,500+ NSE symbols across an approximately 26-year window. Minute-level shards total around 10.5 GB and daily data is a separate ~100 MB split, with all content stored in roughly 1.5 GB Parquet shards. Total row count across splits is reported as 720,421,072.
Structure and fields
Each row carries a symbol (large_string), a timestamp in UTC microseconds, OHLC prices as float32, volume as int64, and oi (open interest) as int64. Files are partitioned first by frequency (minute vs. day) and then alphabetically by ticker, with shards such as train-00000.parquet grouping stocks A-C and subsequent shards covering C-H and beyond.
How analysts use it
Analysts can load the full minute split or the smaller day split, filter by symbol to extract a single name, or stream records without a full download. The minute bars are suitable for intraday liquidity, volatility, and event studies on NSE equities, while the daily split supports longer-horizon factor, momentum, or beta work on the same universe.
