Dataset
sec-filings
sec-filings is a Hugging Face dataset published by Sicheng-Chroma that distributes pre-chunked U.S. SEC filings paired with dense vector embeddings. It is distributed in optimized Parquet format and is intended for retrieval and similarity research over regulatory disclosures.

What this dataset contains
The dataset holds approximately 1.7 million rows of text chunks drawn from U.S. SEC filings, tagged to a specific company, filing date and form type. Each row carries a precomputed float32 embedding alongside the underlying document text. The publisher does not specify the temporal coverage or the universe of CIKs included beyond the example ticker shown in the sample.
Structure and fields
Rows expose the columns id, document, embedding, ticker, filing_date, form_type, source and chunk_i, with chunk_i indicating the position of the text fragment within the parent filing. The id, document, ticker, filing_date, form_type and source fields are stored as strings, while the embedding column is a float32 array. The dataset is shipped as a single train split and is compatible with the datasets, Dask, Polars and mlcroissant libraries.
How analysts use it
Because each row links an embedding to a specific ticker and form_type, the resource can support semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation and clustering experiments over regulatory filings rather than direct quantitative signal extraction. Investment-fund applications would typically focus on building internal research copilots or thematic screeners that surface disclosures by similarity, given that the dataset does not ship derived fundamentals or sentiment labels.
