Dataset card

clinical-trials-landscape-enriched is a 10% sample (about 57,300 rows) of ClinicalTrials.gov records with AI-generated therapeutic-area tags. The publisher offers the full 573,000-trial version for sale on Gumroad, while the sample is released under CC BY 4.0.

What this dataset contains

The dataset is a tabular extract of registered clinical trials, originally pulled from the ClinicalTrials.gov API and then enriched with therapeutic-area classifications produced by Claude AI plus rule-based keyword mapping. It captures protocol-level metadata such as sponsor, status, phase, study type, condition and intervention, and sits in the 10K–100K row range as a parquet file. The license on this Hugging Face upload is CC BY 4.0, though the publisher flags the AI-derived labels as provided as-is.

Structure and fields

Fifteen columns describe each trial. Identifiers and protocol text are stored as strings in nct_number, title, sponsor, condition and intervention, while date32 types appear in start_date and completion_date with duration_days held as float64. Classification fields include status, phase, study_type, sponsor_type and outcome_group, and the AI-derived taxonomy is exposed through primary_therapeutic_area and all_therapeutic_areas. The single train split contains 57,316 rows.

How analysts use it

Equity and credit analysts covering biopharma can group trials by primary_therapeutic_area or sponsor_type to monitor pipeline shifts across indications, while event-driven funds may track status and phase transitions along start_date and completion_date. The dataset is also tagged for tabular-classification tasks, so machine-learning workflows can use fields like phase and study_type to predict outcomes. Because only a 10% sample is openly available, deeper sponsor-level analytics would require purchasing the full 573,000-trial version.
