Dataset card
Zoryntiq SEC Filings is an English-language dataset of SEC EDGAR filings from recently IPO'd and pre-IPO companies, prepared for LLM training and financial NLP. It contains 5,179 cleaned text chunks drawn from 261 high-signal filings such as S-1, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, DEF 14A, and DRS documents.
What this dataset contains
The release bundles 5,119 paragraphs of cleaned text drawn from 261 SEC EDGAR filings, with each chunk sized to roughly 1,500 words and a 150-word overlap to support context-preserving language-model ingestion. Sources are restricted to high-signal form types including S-1, S-1/A, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, DEF 14A, DRS, and CORRESP, while EX-31/32/23 certification exhibits, monolithic submission wrappers, non-English text, and chunks below 200 words have been filtered out. Tables in the original HTML filings are retained as tab-separated rows, and exact duplicate chunks have been removed via MD5 hashing.
Structure and fields
The dataset is published as a single train split on the Hugging Face Hub, accessible via `load_dataset("zoryntiq/zoryntiq-sec-filings")`. The public schema is not fully documented, but the README references `filing_type` (used to filter on values such as "S-1" and "S-1/A") and `financials`, an optional field whose presence flags chunks that contain financial data. All content is drawn from SEC EDGAR, which is in the U.S. public domain, and the redistribution is offered under the Apache 2.0 license.
How analysts use it
Quantitative investors can use the `filing_type` field to isolate S-1 registration statements for pre-IPO due diligence on issuer disclosures, business descriptions, and risk factors. The `financials` flag allows quick retrieval of chunks containing financial tables, which can support extraction pipelines that build structured fundamentals from prospectus and periodic-report language. The release has seen modest traction on the Hub, with 31 downloads and 1 like recorded at the time of writing.
