EPA Envirofacts is a United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) web application that provides public access to environmental information drawn from multiple EPA program databases. Data And Methodology
The underlying datasets are administrative records from EPA program systems, including Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) reporting, RCRAInfo hazardous-waste data, Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) records, ICIS-AIR air-program data, Facility Registry Service (FRS) identifiers, Greenhouse Gas reporting data, the National Emissions Inventory (NEI), RadNet radiation monitoring, Superfund enterprise data (SEMS), and TSCA chemical data.[2]
Because the sources are regulatory submissions and monitoring programs rather than commercial feeds, records follow each program's reporting cycles, and the portal publishes a data-update schedule indicating when each system was last refreshed.[2]
